San Diego Sustainable Business Forum: The Value of Green

On March 26, 2008, the San Diego Natural History Museum hosted the San Diego Sustainable Business Forum: “The Value of Green,” featuring speeches by sustainability guru Ray Anderson of Interface, Inc., Mayor Jerry Sanders of San Diego, the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation Chair Julie Meier-Wright, and Wildlife Preservationist Joan Embry.

The forum was organized by ESI, along with the San Diego Natural History Museum, the San Diego Foundation, the San Diego Zoo, the California Center for Sustainable Energy, Understanding Climate Chance LTD, and the City of San Diego.

Organized around the topics of energy, water, and waste/recycling, the forum brought together local companies who shared the goal of making a difference by reducing the environmental impact of their business. The forum attracted over 200 participants included students, government officials, representatives of non-profit organizations, and small business owners and employees.
